Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Indian Wells

Author: Michael Philip

What do you do to relax after the Christmas holidays and right before the New Year? You go to the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs, Indian Wells, Palm Desert,...), find a nice resort and let your worries be gone ... The perfect place is the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Indian Wells. At the entrance you are greeted by tall palms, a nice fountain and smiling doormen. Throughout our stay, the staff was very pleasant (borderline too pleasant) and attended to all our needs. The concierge staff provided correct information with a sincere smile.

Our room faced the pool area and had a view of the snowcapped San Jacinto mountain. This was a sight to be seen. Room was well equipped and furnished amiably. The bed was comfortable. The spacious bathroom included a separate bath tub and standing shower. My aching back welcomed the massage shower head.

The grounds of the hotel are divided into several areas. The pool courtyard has multiple areas, some for families and some just for adults. There is a spa within the grounds which looks very inviting though I did not use any of these services. The hotel lies adjacent to two golf courses more notably known as the Gold Resort at Indian Wells. It looks a bit decadent to be in the middle of the desert and see such a large perfectly green grassy area ...

The stay was great and I would definitely return. On other travel web sites people seem to have leaned more towards the Esmeralda Resort in Indian Wells. After spending time at both my preference is definitely the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort ... note: Hotels are adjacent to each other and share the same golf course. Esmeralda has a more generic hotel-ly architecture ...

P.S.
Any bad things? .. yes ... The cleaning services misplaced my favorite white sleeping shirt after the first night at the resort. They said that they would inquire about it, but I have a feeling that they did not do much in that sense. It is the first time that something has gone missing from a hotel I have stayed at so I was not happy ...
